Terms of service

Last updated: 1 October 2026

These terms apply to your use of the Nassau & Beyond website at nassauguardian.net. By using the site you accept them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

Who we are

Nassau & Beyond is an independent magazine about the Bahamas and the Caribbean. It is not affiliated with any newspaper, news organisation, government body or tourism authority.

Information, not advice

Our articles are general information written in good faith and checked with care, but rules, prices, schedules and conditions change. Nothing on this site is legal, financial, tax, immigration, medical or safety advice. Before you act – booking a crossing, applying for a permit, starting a business, heading out on the water – confirm the current position with the relevant authority or operator and, where appropriate, take professional advice.

Using our content

The articles, photographs and illustrations on this site are protected by copyright. You may read, print and share links to them for personal, non-commercial use. You may quote short extracts with a clear credit and a link to the original article. Any other copying, republishing or commercial use needs our written permission.

Your messages to us

If you send us a message, story idea or correction, you confirm that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge and doesn't break anyone else's rights. We may use the information in it to correct or improve an article. We don't publish reader submissions without asking first.

Acceptable use

Don't use the site to break the law, to attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, to overload or disrupt the service, or to scrape it in bulk.

We link to other websites where it helps readers. We are not responsible for their content or availability.

Liability

We work to keep the site accurate and available but provide it "as is", without guarantees. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
